Frequently asked questions

Did you know? Facts about Schengen Visa Insurance

Guaranteed coverage according to strict EU standards

A valid Schengen visa is only granted if the insurance meets three core conditions: a minimum coverage of € 30,000 validity throughout the entire Schengen Area, and full coverage for repatriation due to medical reasons. Our insurance covers these requirements comprehensively as standard. Should the visa be denied before the insurance takes effect, we offer the security that the paid premium will be refunded (subject to terms), ensuring you run no financial risk.

Immediate acceptance by the IND and embassies

Applying for a Short Stay Visa (up to 90 days) or a Provisional Residence Permit (MVV) requires conclusive documentation. Our insurance is internationally recognized by the Immigration and Naturalisation Service (IND) and all European diplomatic posts. This speeds up the process for family visits, tourism, or business stays across the Schengen Zone. If the visa is unexpectedly rejected, we will refund your premium in most cases.

When is Schengen insurance not required?

In some situations, taking out a new insurance may be unnecessary. For example, if the health insurance in the country of origin already meets Schengen standards. In this case, the guest must be able to provide an English statement from their insurer explicitly mentioning the €30,000 coverage and repatriation. Guests arriving from other EU countries, or countries like Norway and Switzerland, are typically covered by their EHIC (European Health Insurance Card). However, be aware that foreign health insurance is often scrutinized more strictly than a recognized European insurance.
